In the field of automotive interior design,color is the tool of achieving perfect design for automotive interior.Making re-definition and segmentation to interior space through the color layout and collocation of automotive interior,which helps to promote variety of styles,provides more options to consumers.Nowadays,the automotive interior color design activities of domestic independent brand mainly depend on coloration and modification of designers;besides,the production and marketing strategy made by enterprises are mostly designed for all consumer groups and lacks the consideration for specific groups who require differences.It causes a low perceptual engagement for consumers.Different consumer groups have different perceptual requirements for interior colors,and these differences also existed in the interior styles.How to quantize these perceptual requirements of consumers,establish the relationship with interior color design elements,optimize scheme assessment method,and propose an objective perceptual evaluation method are the main research contents in this article.At first,making relevant analysis and discussions on the composition,characteristics and trend of automotive interior color design.Secondly,taking A-class vehicle as an example to establish automotive interior color design sample gallery and perceptual vocabulary gallery as well as perceptual image space,and then make the main composition analysis of color design sample and perceptual vocabulary with a method of Kansei engineering.A complete perceptual evaluation method of interior color scheme is created by summarizing numerous variables to a few factors to get the image contribution value of each design sample and attain important perceptual image.Finally,simulations are presented by applying Kansei engineering to interior color design process of A-class vehicle.The interior color design practice for domestic independent branded A-class vehicle provides a new interior color design sample gallery with reference to earlier color trend analysis and in combination of the most popular trend and make investigation to its perceptual image.Also,the different perceptual evaluation results of different consumer groups on the basis of Kansei engineering method are obtained.the perceptual requirements of interior color of consumers into visualization is changed.The investigation results of two perceptual images can not only make mutual authentication at the same time,but it can also find out the identity of consumers to personalized and diversified interior colors.This research provides reliable design instruction method on the basis of consumer-orientation and quantifies the relationship between perceptual requirement and interior color.The continuous changing of color trends and innovation of interior materials will change perceptual information of consumer.Enterprises can improve perceptual vocabulary gallery and interior color gallery at any time and re-establish perceptual semantic space,and then explore consumer perceptual requirements at maximum and instruct the design and development of automotive interior color.
