The traffic prediction of the important channel of the interface area is not only the base of traffic planning, but also the basis of channel construction projects, has an important influence on the regional road network structure, channel capacity and economic development along the line. Methods and accuracy of prediction of the traffic demand directly affects the economic development and the living standards of residents along the line,so an objective and scientific methods of traffic forecasting is used in the process of channel construction is an important topic. This paper first analysis of various methods of traffic prediction in general, and then according to the specific situation and research status in domestic and abroad and some important section channel traffic prediction analysis of advantages and disadvantages of various methods, and different methods need specific analysis in the traffic prediction process and use,in order to find out a kind of method has the general applicability of the traffic. This paper in view of the current commonly used four-stage method, the traffic volume is divided into four parts, using different methods, not only economic growth, but also according to the reference, residents traveling, land planning and development of traffic mode transfer, improve the accuracy of traffic prediction results.According to the characteristics of Tongling city traffic across the river channel to the economic growth rate and the traveling rate of residents as the main basis,to calculate and forecast the traffic distribution and traffic distribution based on Matlab and Trans CAD software, the design method of a channel which is suitable for the prediction of.
