With the socioeconomic development as well as the enhancement of energy conservation and environmental protection consciousness,the rising demand for energy means that the installed capacity of electric power systems will also increase.Meanwhile the difficulty of electric power and energy balance—the basic calculation of a power system—has been increased gradually.Hence it has become the current research hotspot to fully consider the maintenance planning,spare capacity distribution and power output allocation of a power system.In this paper,first of all,on the basis of the distribution estimation algorithm combined with the successive approximation algorithm,an algorithm that couples distribution estimation with successive approximation(EDA-SA)is proposed.The coupling algorithm simplifies the multivariate correlation distribution into the univariate marginal distribution,which can reduce the difficulty of building the distribution estimation algorithm and improve the calculation accuracy of the algorithm.Secondly,with the analysis of the causes of abandoned hydropower as well as its manifestations in the calculation of power and energy balance,a model of minimum abandoned hydropower is established.The proposed EDA-SA is employed to solve the model and,with the combination of the method of shifting backward the remnant load,the problem of optimizing maintenance capacity and spare capacity in different time-space dimensions is worked out.The feasibility of the coupling algorithm to solve the problem of optimizing power capacity distribution is verified by example calculation.Compared with traditional algorithms,the EDA-SA produces less abandoned hydropower in its distribution schemes of power stations' capacity.Additionally,to analyze the power generation benefit of a power system consisting of hydropower and thermal power stations,a model of this power supply group's economic benefit from power generation is established that pool purchase price and generation cost are considered.The equal increment method is added to the coupling algorithm in order to calculate the coal consumption cost of the thermal power stations.The results demonstrate that because of the regulating effect of price leverage,the wider the gap between hydropower and thermal power pool purchase prices,the more hydropower resources are wasted.By regulating the pool purchase prices to narrow the gap,the total power generation benefit can be ensured and meanwhile the abandoned hydropower can be reduced as much as possible.
