| Electronic Stability Control System is one of the most important safety components on the vehicle. The ESC system is activated when the deviation between the reference and actual measured information from sensors is larger than a preset dead-band.It automatically applies the brakes on certain wheels to help the vehicle return to the driver’s target path.A large number of facts show that the ESC system can effectively reduce the number of car accidents under complex and extreme conditions. The tire plays an important role on the vehicle,as it is the component that connects the vehicle to the ground and is responsible for generating force and torque which decide the movement of the whole vehicle. The steady state and transient properties of the tire affect the operation of the vehicle’s ESC system and consequently affects its performance. So,with the increase of ESC installation rate, the requirements of tire characteristics are also more and more strict.ESC products carried in domestic vehicles are almost all from foreign suppliers. However, the calibration of electronic control system is expensive and which takes a long time. These are the new difficulties OEMs may face. It’s hard to change tire due to design reasons after the calibration, because the change of tire means the change of the whole chassis performance. The control parameters of ESC system are no longer matched with the whole vehicle and need to be calibrated again. In order to save the development cost and time,it is necessary for OEMs and tire factories to work together to find out which features of tires affect the performance of ESC products through effective simulation method.Provide OEMs the basis for matching tires for new cars and let tire manufacturers clarify what tire characteristics can meet the requirements of vehicle handling stability control system.Reduce the times of calibration tests, improve the efficiency of vehicle development and reduce costs for OEMS.The main objective of this study is to investigate how different tire properties influence its interaction with the ESC system. This was conduct through a simulation study.1、According to vehicle test data, establish CarSim vehicle model. The vehicle has been validated comparing its outputs to experimental data.2、According to tire test data,we identify the parameters of Pac2002 tire model. With the integration of vehicle model in CarSim and with tire models in Matlab/Simulink,various vehicle dynamics maneuvers are performed.3、Investigated the calibrate test conditions and evaluation indexes of ESC products by various ESC system suppliers.Complete the sensitivity analysis of the impact of tire characteristics on the ESC system via the Isight platform, find tire characteristics which have a great impact on ESC system.Preliminary find the satisfaction interval of tire characteristics which meet requirements... |
