The vehicle control system of tire blow-out is an active-safety device, which has a real time adjustment of the vehicle’s operation (normal vehicle and vehicle of tire blow-out) through the electronic control system so that the vehicle can be driven in accordance with driver’s intention to prevent the vehicle runs into a state of instability when it is in limited steering conditions or after tire puncture. At present, the vehicle stability control technique of normal car has already been mature, the relevant control products (ESP、VSC and etc) have already been widely used in vehicle, while the relevant researches on vehicle stability control after tire blow-out are still a few at home and abroad. Here, to conduct research on this aspect has important practical significance as well as broad application prospect. On the basis of relevant researches at home and abroad, this paper conducted research on the blown tire model, the analysis of vehicle stability control principle, the analysis of vehicle’s kinetic characteristics after tire blow-out, the vehicle stability control method after tire blow-out and etc with an aim to make innovative breakthroughs on the aspect of vehicle active safety technique. This paper discussed in detail the following aspects:(1) On the basis of UniTire tire model, the paper researches on the blown tire model. A tire model that can describe the tire’s property at tire adhesion limit is established firstly. According to the blown tire properties by tire test, and on the basis of UniTire tire model, blown tire model has been established which not only has a high degree of accuracy in normal tire pressure but also can exactly reflect the blown tire’s properties that is applicable to the simulation research on vehicle stability control after tire blow-out.(2) It has been established that the vehicle model by using CarSim software and verified the accuracy of virtual vehicle model by comparing it with real vehicle.(3) It has been analyzed that the vehicle’s kinetic characteristics after the tire blow out as well as the causes and further explored the influence of blown tire’s properties change on the vehicle’s kinetic characteristics. On the basis of the above researches, it has discussed the control effects of all wheel brake on the vehicle after tire blow-out. (4) It has been studied that the control effects of the electronic vehicle stability control system on the vehicle after tire blow-out. Firstly, it has been analyzed that the electronic vehicle stability control principle and the control effects of the electronic vehicle stability control system on the vehicle after tire blow-out in different operating conditions. The research shows that the electronic vehicle stability control system can improve the vehicle’s stability in some degree. The electronic vehicle stability control system does not have an ideal controlling effect on the vehicle after tire blow-out. Because when the electronic vehicle stability control determined the control torque, it does not take the changes of vehicle’s kinetic characteristics after the tire blows out into consideration. Because of the effect of the tire which is unseated from the rim, in some cases (such as the external front wheel blows out), the electronic vehicle stability control will deteriorate the vehicle safety.(5) Considering the changes of c after tire blows out, it has been proposed that an effective control strategy of the vehicle with blown tire by using electronic stability control. It has been studied that the feasibility of control method on vehicle with blown tire by conducting stimulation analysis in simulation environment of CarSim software and verified the control effects by using the contrast experiment. The simulation test shows that it can effectively improve the safety of vehicle after tire blow-out through appropriate differential brake if the changes of vehicle’s kinetic characteristics are taken into consideration. When controlling vehicle’s stability, it can further improve the effect if the speed control and the method of preventing tire to be unseated from the rim are taken into consideration. The research content of this paper is a comparatively new field and has many innovations which include the following points:(1)The tire model has been established, which could reflectes blown tire’s properties according to tire experiment data of different tire pressure. The tire model provides a basis for the research of vehicle stability control method after tire blow-out.(2)Based on blown tire model, it has studied changes of vehicle’s kinetic characteristics after tire blow-out through simulation test, and studied the influence of several factors (such as suspension K&C properties, wheel alignment parameters, steering system’s properties etc) on the vehicle’s movement, and analysed the cause that tire blow-out would induce accident.(3)It has been deeply analyzed thar the basic principle of all-wheel pulse brake’s adjustment of vehicle’s trajectory after tire blow-out through the study of the effect of brake on the vehicle’s movement, which illustrates the theory basis of several control system at home.(4)It has been proposed that the control method used in vehicle after tire blow-out based on electronic vehicle stability control system, which fully consideres many factors, such as the changes of vehicle’s kinetic characteristics after tire blow-out, the impact force when the tire blows out, the accident that tire has been unseated from the rim and reasonable speed control, which can effectively maintain the stability of vehicle.
