Some Studies On Signage System Of Shanghai Tianzifang

Historic Block In the current urban jungles,as a kind unique existences and urban history-museums,the historic blocks have witnessed the elapses of different periods and the evolution of Chinese cities,the ancestral knowledge can be well illustrated from them.However,corresponding transformations are inevitable if these historic blocks want to survive in the rapidly-developed cities.By taking Shanghai Tianzifang Historic Block as study object,through a series of field studies and information searches,this paper made one batch of detailed analysis on Tianzifang in space,architecture,population,culture,the existing signage system and related other aspects for revealing signage requirements,environmental status and cultural characteristics of Tianzifang,as well as fixing the main directions and elements of the signage system therein.Tianzifang can be said a historic block with old Shanghai style.It has the following special points,including narrow roads,crowded passengers,old buildings,aging circuits,complex space-usage conditions,many tourists and unique and entertaining architectures.All the elements should be considered into the Signage System of Shanghai Tianzifang Historic Block.Viewed from spatial partition,building type,color and material extraction and cultural characteristics of Tianzifang,this paper carefully designed number plates of the entire block,location signages of service sites,location signages of alleys and lanes,direction signages and instruction signages and intelligent signages therein in different categories for optimizing the entire signage system,as well as providing good references for other signage systems of historic blocks throughout China.Tian Zi Fang has a unique charm,the guide system design focuses on preserving the characteristics and atmosphere of Tian Zi Fang.The design extracts the stone door frame elements of the representative building "Shikumen" residence in Tian Zi Fang,and combines with the penetrating guide sign to make the guide system quietly melt into the Tian Zi Fang.From Tianzifang's own materials and colors can bring people to maintain Tianzifang feeling.Taking Tianzifang environment as the background through the card guides is to guide people to discover the beauty of Tianzifang.
