The problem of "hollowness" in the traditional homeland of overseas Chinese is not fundamentally different from the "hollowness" problem of the ordinary countryside.Their core connotation is the loss of population, which is characterized by the long idle and abandoned buildings in the villages. In the case of China's urbanization and rapid economic development,it is a common phenomenon of the rural "hollowness" that the farmers go to work in cities and expand the land outside the village to build new houses, resulting in the outflow of the population. For the traditional homeland of overseas Chinese, its poor infrastructure, low quality of building and "Fragmentation" of property rights and other issues, are also very important reasons its "hollowness".Nevertheless, the loss of the "overseas Chinese" has a greater impact on the long-term idleness of village houses. This paper takes Tanlin Village in Jinjiang as an empirical research object of the "hollowing-out" problem in the traditional hometown of overseas Chinese. On the basis of retrospective survey,This paper summarizes the reasons for building idleness in the homeland of"Oversea Chinese" in three aspects:the "ossification" of the building of"overseas Chinese";the "fragmentation" of property rights;the poor quality of infrastructure and buildings. And then thoroughly discuss Chinese legal system, economic, society and so on to find out the root of the problem.Ultimately,by drawing on the practical experience of different types of problems in idle buildings at home and abroad, this paper sums up corresponding coping modes, and then explores the way out of the reuse of idle buildings in Tanlin.
