Landscape architecture usually represents the natural and human representation of an area. However, influenced by the tide of globalization, modern landscape architecture is gradually losing its local characteristics. This globalization process has provided convenience to people and promoted the communication of information between various countries and ethnic groups. At the same time,it has gradually wiped out cultural differences in different parts of the world, leading to people's weakening sense of identity.Regional design,as a concept of responding to globalization,is often mentioned in modern landscape architecture design. However,in the course of specific practice, some tendencies and problems have emerged, which deviate from the original intention of regionalism. Both the in-situ design and the regional design come from the theory of critical regionalism.Due to the different perspectives and different focuses, some differences in design practice are caused.Since the Community Infrastructure Establishment in Taiwan in the 1990 s,local architects have adopted a in-situ rather than a region attitude to cope with the wave of globalization and have achieved great accomplishments. This article summarizes related theories on regionalism and draws on Taiwan's related achievements in the practice of in-situ.Through analysis, the concept of in-situ is decomposed in terms of humanity factor, natural factor and cultural factor, and a modern landscape architectural design strategy based on in-situ is extracted: humanity as the origin, nature as the basic, and culture as companion.Illustrated with related cases, this paper systematically discusses inclusive design for people's behavioral environment, responsive design for natural environment, and associated design for cultural environment. At the end of the paper, the conclusions are applied to the project practice that the author participates in.It is hoped that this strategy can provide some reference and supplement for the future landscape architecture design, and provide more works with local features and human care.
