Research On The Public Space Structure Of Traditional Villages In Hunan Based On Space Syntax

Traditional villages refer to villages with early history,rich historical culture and natural resources,which should be protected.Different from the modern villages,the public space of the traditional villages is formed in some common needs of the villagers,and the structure of public space reflects the specific way of life and the social order to a certain extent.Most of the researches in public spaces of traditional villages are focus on monomer research and genre studies,system structure study are few,and most of them using the qualitative way,lack of quantifiable basis.Therefore,this paper takes the traditional villages of Hunan as the research object,taking space syntax as the main analysis method,trying to sum up the characteristics of the public space structure and explore its formation mechanism,in order to reveal the complex regional culture under the material space more accurately.The main body of the article can be divided into two parts: theoretical construction and case analysis.The theoretical section: First,summarizes the distribution characteristics and spatial patterns of the traditional villages in Hunan,then analyzes the quantitative analysis methods based on graph theory,explains the reason of taking spatial syntax as an analysis method,and finally establishes the principle of space division for public space.The case analysis section: three typical villages in Hunan province were selected,including Gao Yi Village,Yu Tou village and Lou Tian Village.First,analyzes the public spatial structure of a single village from three aspects: spatial pattern,topological structure and space syntactic value.The public space structure of the Gao Yi is "two cluster,three bands and scattered points",Yu Tou village is "one heart,one axis,two wings and two doors",and Lou Tian Village is "bead like" with the axis of Guangxi Avenue.Then,compares the morphological features,public space composition and space syntactic value of three villages,discusses the similarities and differences in the public space structure,finds that the public space structure of traditional villages is affected by four forces: the limitation of terrain environment,the shaping of traffic water system,the control of clan system and the expansion of regional culture.Finally,put forward the protection of village public space structure from the two aspects of structural protection and functional adaptation.The importance of the study of the traditional village public space structure is to understand the deep relationship between the spatial structure and the social culture.On the premise of inheriting regional culture and meeting the needs of contemporary life,providing suggestions for village protection.The public space structure extracted by systematic analysis can be used as the spatial skeleton of the village protection planning,in order to guide the traditional village activation and the construction of the village public space system,to eliminate the "thousands of villages look the same" phenomenon.
