During the 13th Five-year Plan of China,the development of prefabricated buildings has entered an indicative advancement stage under the support of state government with the number of practical projects on prefabricated(mainly PC)residences continuously increasing and the types of such prefabricated residences constantly innovating,but there are still many problems challenging the development of steel structure residences.For example,traditional design methods for concrete structure residences we are still following today fail to satisfy the demand on modulization,standardization and serialization of prefabricated buildings,especially steel structure ones,not to mention giving full play to the advantages of framework system in flexibly dividing spaces of residences,thus making steel structure residences less competitive in real estate market.The paper intends to discuss elastic designs of residence size and residence size combination of steel structure dwelling residences in combination with IFD theory and explore ways to resolve the contradictions between standardization requirements for steel structure construction and diversified demands of dwelling residence market,in hope of supplying reference to the development of the design of steel structure residences in China and it can be divided into five parts:Chapter I:introduction part.This part defines relevant concepts basing around such key words as steel structure residence and elastic design and determines research contents and methods,following which it analyses the development background and research status of steel structure residence and IFD theory and indicates that steel structure residences in China lack the ability of variable elasticity and there exists such a problem as to the contradiction between diversified demands of residents and industrial construction.Chapter II:theoretical research part of the paper.This part firstly combs the research basis for IFD theory while interpreting its three theoretical elements of as follows:industrial construction(I),elastic design(F)and detachable design(D),and then,based on questionnaire,it expounds on the necessity in terms of the elastic design of residences in China at present from three aspects,namely household full life cycle,difference between household residential behaviors and residential demands and instance analysis on elastic design of residences.Chapter III:analysis on steel structure residence system.Targeting at the features of steel structure residences,this part expounds on the influence of structural system,floor(roof)system,wall system and lateral resisting system on the design of steel structure residences,and then,in combination with actual project cases,it analyses current problems existing in the design of steel structure residences in China and proposes design criteria and systematic design methods for steel structure residences under the instruction of IFD theory.Chapter ?:this part is designed to explore elastic design thinking for steel structure residences through applying design criteria and systematic design methods to the design of standard floor of steel structure residences.It firstly determines modulus system applicable to the design of steel structure residences according to the design requirements of steel structure residence system and corresponding functional space,and then analyzes the functional space of residences and the spatial zone and section of house type,following which it puts forward basic unit models of steel structure residences and implements design research on basic and derivative units against serialized house types deduced from basic unit models.Finally it explores design methods for the basic and derivative units of the standard floors of multi-floor,small high-rise and high-rise steel structure residences based on the analysis on the applicability of traffic core for steel structure residences.Chapter V:Conclusion and prospect.
