Research On The Conservation And Utilization Of The Industrial Architecture Sites Of Jin Jia Street In Dalian

As a part of the old northeastern industrial base,Dalian has a large number of industrial architectural heritages.In recent years,the protection of industrial heritage has been strengthened,but with the development of the city,some old factories have been relocated or dismantled,industrial sites are gradually disappearing.JinJia Street was the workers residential area belongs to 3 famous Plants,one of the Soviet Union support 156 Project in first five year plan period,The original Dalian Second Power Plant and Dalian Steel Plant which supported the national liberation and Dalian Chemical Plant which was known as the cradle of Chinese chemical industry.More than 20 Soviet-style architectures built in the 50s-80 s are distributed in this area with different patterns and vivid characteristics of that time.This kind of residential building is a unique type of urban culture development in Dalian.Parts of the 50 s architectures represent the concept of "advanced".It is a part of the memory in Dalian industrialization process and also a witness of China-Soviet friendly relations of cooperation,they have great significance.In order to avoid further damage in the development of urbanization,it is necessary to carry out the general investigation and the cognizance of principal value of industrial remains in the region to ensure the reasonably use and long-term programme in the future development of city.This paper can be divided into five parts:The first part: select the key industrial buildings of JinJia Street and introduce its general situation including The Second Power Plant,Dalian Steel Plant,Dalian Chemical Plant history,architectural features and detailed characteristics.The second part: analyzes the value of the industrial residential area of JinJia Street,including historical value,cultural value,scientific value,artistic value and economic value.The third part: through the field investigation,the utilization status and existingproblems of JinJia industrial building heritage are analyzed.The fourth part: draw lessons from the excellent protection schemes at home and abroad,and make suggestions on the protection of the industrial buildings in JinJia Street.
