| Due to the new technological revolution, the world’s industrial structure had changed:the declined traditional industrial dominant position is replaced by the tertiary industry, humanity entered.the information age. A large number of abandoned industrial buildings left from the transformation of the industrial structure of the city,(a number of industrial enterprises gradually move from the city center to the outer suburbs) which have a valuable historical and cultural value. How they can be preserved and reused is an important issue that must be resolved in the future.In foreign countries, the research on protection and recycling of the old industrial architectural heritage has been attracted much attention, having more advanced theoretical and practical basis. Affected by foreign countries, some cities in China emerged re-use and protection successful stories of industrial architectural heritage, which inspires people to rethink the industrial architectural heritage.As China’s abundant mines provinces, Shanxi is one of the birthplaces of modern industry. With the rise of modern industry in Shanxi, industrial buildings shows different characteristics according to different historical periods. With the economic development and industrial structure adjustment in Shanxi, the transformation of the old industrial architectural heritage still has a vast space in the next period. The historical and cultural value of remaining industrial buildings in the process of industrialization in Shanxi is worth our further deep research. It is great significant to the development of the city for successful use of modification and utilization of industrial architectural legacy. At the same time, we should also recognize that the protection and reuse of industrial buildings is a complex project involving the cross-integrated fields of politics, economy, culture and history. After comprehensive and systematic analysis of the current situation of the industrial architectural heritage, it is possible that we could guide the healthy development of protection and reuse of urban industrial buildings.The author did the detailed site survey on the existing industrial architectural heritage in Shanxi, searched the related historical information and collated historical context of industrial construction in Shanxi. Finally in this paper I put forward the principle,models and methods of the protection after analysis, summarized and summary of present situation for industrial architectural heritage in Shanxi. Based on the above analysis, the author has simulated three examples of the architectural heritage in Shanxi. The author brings up some of the problems and proposals on different transformation models, the protection and reuse of different types of industrial buildings from points of view:the overall urban planning, the use of a single building, social and environment and etc, which is hoped to provide a reference and actively help for future protection and re-use of industrial architectural heritage in Shanxi. |
