Since the beginning of 21st century,vehicles have stepped into C hinese families as bulk consumer goods.Private cars have gradually become an indispensable travel tool in our life.With the increase of car ownership,C hinese people have increasing demand on quality,price,and technology of vehicles.Besides,as the market continues to mature and the pressure of environmental protection increases,national laws and regulations are more and more tight,that requires automobile companies to adapt to the market rhythm and laws as soon as possible,and produce vehicles,which are technically advanced,with superior quality,cost-optimized,legally compliant,and which can also fulfillment the different requirement of customers.It takes at least 4 years from the project approval to the launch of the production in automotive industry.Even there is mid-term modification and new-year model,both cannot fulfillment the requirement of customers and law that is tighter and tighter.As a consequence,once a new vehicle product starts to product,continuous update of the product is necessary to improve its market competitiveness,which requires a complete engineering change project management process.Engineer change project management after SOP,aiming at optimizing cost,optimizing quality态improving assembly and the law,change the part and technology during the entire product life cycle.This paper finds out the issues in management,e.g.separation of plan approval and implementation,the problem of project management organizational structure,problem of manage resource allocation,lack of efficient communication,by analyzing the current process of the engineering change projects management of product after SOP of Company F,from seven aspects e.g.organization management,technical solutions clarification,quality risk evaluation,cost control,production pass evaluation,plan management and factory implementation.These issues affect the work efficiency of every department,increase the switch risk of parts and extend the process of optimization project on SOP product.As a consequence,the optimization project can hardly start and new products cannot be provided,which will lead to a negative impact on sales and market share of Company F.This paper solves the above issues by using relevant theory to optimize the management system of engineering change projects after SOP.Firstly,optimize the project management process,and combed program approval,plan management and factory implementation,to avoid the decrease of efficiency when management handover and the risk in production switch.Secondly,optimize the project management organizational structure,set up the project management department,overall management and rational allocation of resources.Thirdly,optimize the management of project communication,improve the communication efficiency,avoid the lack and waste of information,and avoid the transmission issue of information which leads to long cycle of project implement.At last,put forward the safeguard measures that this optimization plan needs in the implementation process,e.g.support from senior managers,optimization of organization,on-demand allocation of resources,and the recognition and practice of Company culture by all employees.Company F is an excellent joint venture Company in the automotive industry and has extensive experience in the management of engineering change.And the research of Company F on product engineering change project management has certain reference significance for other companies in C hinese automobile industry.
