Research On The Suitability Of The Urban Design Guidelines Of Historical Block

As the country is aware of the importance of the protection of the historical and cultural heritage as well as urban design,and the public require of the promotion of the quality of a historic block environmental.The urban design of historical block become an important research subject.In view of the historical block urban design guidelines exist some problems.Such as the limitations of the control width,the fuzzy describes of the control depth and the rules guide line is unknown,and the design language is disconnected with the management language.This paper tries to build a suitability guideline system of historical block and adjusts guide design languages in the perspective of management operation.So as to achieve the goal that shaping good space environment and context place.Firstly,through the summary and review of the related research both domestic and foreign,thinking about the "suitability" of urban design guidelines.Which includes four aspects:the theory of historical block protection,the suitability of the urban design guidelines,four urban design methods,design science and management behavior.By introducing the concept of the " living culture ",from the natural ecology,artificial environment,cultural activities and the safeguard mechanism four dimensions expanding the control width of the historical block guideline elements.Secondly,In the face of historical block complex system problems,from the view of the management decision theory,descriptive languages is described by state and described by process.And than the guidelines will be divided into two categories,which is prescriptive or performance.From macro-medium-micro three research dimensions,build the guidelines element "The target layer,principle layer,elements layer,control layer" four hierarchy system.Then by analyzing the correlation between the guidelines elements,control&lead contents and collaborative decision-making mechanism to build the suitability matrix analysis grid.Which provides an effective analysis tool for the city managers and designers in historical block.Thirdly,from view of the bridging operational point of design and management of language,to develop the principle-the rules-standard-positioning four kinds of management methods.In this way,adjust the control depth of guidelines under the limited rational.And then discuss the way how guidelines formulation matchs the management mode and set the suitable deliberation mechanism.Finally,a case of Gulangyu Island Historical Block in Xiamen.It aimed at the elements characteristics of guidelines,divided into prescriptive guidelines and performance guidelines from macroscopic to microcosmic angle.Then design the suitable control means and activities guidelines,and build the corresponding matrix performance evaluation system.Paper innovation points:introducing the related theory of suitability,considering the language description of guidelines information,the targeted process of guidelines control and the Cohesive devices of design and management,divided into prescriptive guidelines and performance guidelines to establish appropriate guidelines control system of historical block.The research on the suitability of Gulangyu Island Historical Block guidelines as a empirical case in Xiamen.This provides effective approaches and a empirical case for the historical block protection and rational utilization.
