Research On The Application Of Punk Elements In Ready-to-wear Design From The Perspective Of Youth Subculture

With the enthusiastic pursuit of subcultures by the young people of our contemporary world,the youth subculture,which originally existed only behind the mainstream culture,have gradually entered the public’s perspective and have been widely discussed as an increasingly global social and cultural phenomenon.In recent years,a large number of outstanding new fashion designers have made their debut in the fashion industry.By presenting highly subculture design works and design concepts,they have attracted a group of similar people who can appreciate each other and reach a tacit fashion consensus with them.In order to capture youth consumer groups,many luxury brands have begun to focus on youth subcultures.And under such circumstances,the youth subculture is imperceptibly promoting the development of fashion industry subtly."Punk",as one of the most typical representative styles born of youth subculture,has been continuously injected with new cultural connotation in the development process of the new era.Born in the mid-1970 s,punk has gradually evolved from an independent music style into an artistic style,and even has more specific categories such as primitive punk,hard core punk,post punk,new wave,popular punk,etc.But no matter in which era,punk symbolizes a spirit and a way of self-expression that dares to break through the traditional barriers,and provides a reliable spiritual pillar and emotional outlet for young people.The rebellious spirit conveyed by punk is displayed on clothing,showing a provocative attitude to the traditional aesthetic,and finally making this anti-fashion and anti-conservative style a new fashion style and has developed to this day.Nowadays,the fashion circle has incorporated the unique style of punk into the mainstream design concepts,and punk style has even become a source of inspiration for many high fashion designs.The mainstream fashion and subculture fashion infiltrate each other.Fashion designers have applied different punk elements to the ready-to-wear designs,injecting fresh power into the development of fashion trends.This project will use the youth subculture as the background to summarize the development of punk style under the influence of subculture.Combined with the independent designer brand with the most prominent punk style in modern ready-to-wear,this paper analyzes the practical application cases of its ready-to-wear design,and extracts the most suitable and representative punk elements and design techniques for innovative designpractice.It aims to reveal the important identity of youth subcultures as a carrier to promote the development of fashion industry by studying the design manifestation of punk style in youth subcultures in modern garments,and to provide new ideas and solutions for garment design.
