Research On Public Participation Approach In Air Pollution Control

The continuous development of science and technology brings us material prosperity,but also causes a series of environmental problems.In recent years,in our country the outbreak of hazy weather in many big cities has seriously affected the public health and the quality of life.Air pollution has become a hot topic for a time,arousing widespread public concern.For a long time,our government has played an important role in the air pollution control,but the traditional environmental regulation mode of government also exposes many shortcomings.On the one hand,the government acts as the only main body of air pollution control,which is not conducive to play the part of the public and civil environmental organizations in the air pollution control;on the other hand,as a single subject of governance,the government also disturbs the normal market economy as well as the initiative of public participation.Therefore,it is an important project in studying the process of air pollution control in our country to actively promote the public participation in air pollution control,provide more policies and environmental support,and create more public participation approaches and conditions.Based on the relevant research results and theories at home and abroad,this paper first clarified the general concepts of public participation and air pollution control,and explained the relevant theories of public participation in air pollution control.Secondly,it combed the development of public participation in air pollution control.At the same time,it deeply analyzed the practice of foreign public participation approaches in air pollution control,considering that the approaches of foreign public participation have the characteristics of legalization,institutionalization,and civil society playing an important role.Finally,the study explored existing problems of public participate in the air pollution control and put forward to improve the approaches of our public participation in air pollution control through relevant questionnaire.
