Research On Petrochina's Investment Strategy In Mongolia

Mongolia is a country with abundant natural resources and small population.Foreign direct investment(FDI)plays an important role in Mongolian economy.Mongolia has abundant crude oil resources and has become the favorite destination of international oil companies.PetroChina is a subsidiary of CNPC.It is one of the largest companies in the international oil and gas industry.Since the construction and operation of TAMSAG oil and gas basin in Mongolia,PetroChina has invested and implemented a successful investment strategy.In this study,China Petroleum Corporation(CNPC)is taken as the main research object,and its investment strategy in TAMSAG oilfield in Mongolia is studied in depth.By sorting out a large number of documents in China,Mongolia and Western countries,this paper lays a solid foundation for the theory of this study;makes a detailed analysis of the current situation of China's petroleum industry,analyzes the current situation of Mongolia's investment and China's petroleum investment in Mongolia,and summarizes the problems of China's petroleum investment in Mongolia;and uses OLI to analyze the current situation of China's petroleum investment in Mongolia.The eclecticism paradigm,PESTEL and SWOT analysis method have comprehensively analyzed PetroChina's investment in Mongolia.In view of the shortcomings and problems of PetroChina's investment in Mongolia,this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions,and studies and puts forward that PetroChina should set investment strategy objectives in Mongolia and Mongolia.The investment mode of Mongolia should be perfected in terms of the choice of investment entry mode,and the investment strategy should be perfected in the following aspects:formulating integrated upstream and downstream investment strategy,strategic partner cooperation investment strategy and corporate social responsibility investment strategy,etc.The corresponding countermeasures and suggestions on the implementation of investment strategy are put forward.
