China’s economy has been accompanied by the large inflows of foreign directinvestment. Since2000, economic growth rates have consistently exceeded7.5%.Chinaranked s top3recipients with inflows of$72billion in2005. However, at the sametime, environmental problems are increasingly serious in our country. With the people’sunderstanding of environmental pollution, the relationship between the foreign directinvestment inflows and the environmental pollution has caused the attention of academia.This paper, based on theories of foreign direct investment and environmentaleconomics, studies Chinese’s environmental regulation influence on foreign directinvestment. By using multivariate linear regression model to analysis this issue from2000to2012. The results show that the level of environmental regulation in our countryproduce inhibition on FDI, but the impact is relatively small. The worker’s wages,China’s economic development has bigger size than the environmental regulation on theimpact of foreign direct investment inflows.According to the basis of the above measurement results, based on the actualsituation of our country, the paper make some suggestions, in order to improve thequality of foreign direct investment inflows, optimize the industrial structure to achievesustainable economic and social development.
