Research On Foreign Direct Investment Of Mongolian Mining Sector

Foreign direct investment(FDI)is an important part of its economic development and economic growth in developing countries.Last decade,Mongolia has attracted foreign investors from other countries with its abundant natural resources.Mining is the key factor in the development of Mongolia.The population of Mongolia is small,especially in comparison with some other "tiger" economies.Mongolia is geographically the nineteenth largest country in the world and has a lot of natural resources.Mongolia is between two of the world's largest economies,Russia and China.90% of Mongolian mining exports go to China.This geographical situation has a huge impact on Mongolian economy.Mongolia is one of the major mineral producer of several minerals including coal,copper,zinc,gold and fluorspar.With large reserves,it has the potential to increase production considerably.Some investors and companies,mining and mining-related services are one of the most important and reliable long-term investments in Mongolia.Mongolia's natural resources provide the prospects for the long-term economic development for the Mongolian people.If properly managed,the recent expansion of international mining investment in Mongolia will continue to bring the national economy to the twenty-first century and bring many benefits to society.Global mineral exploration and exploitation should respect the Mongolian people's culture and environment.In recent years,the Mongolian air pollution,environmental pollution and people's medical problems have rapidly increased.This paper examines the impact of FDI on mining sector of Mongolia and identify problems,constraints,growth and the contribution of mining to the growth of the national economy.In addition,it addresses the trends in FDI in Mongolian mining sector and its processes,strengths and government policies.
