Nowadays,island tourism has become a significant way ofentertainment and leisure.However,in recent years,the environmentpollution,over-exploitated natural resources and so on have made theplanet we live face various crises.When people enjoy the pleasure andconsiderable economic benefits brought by tourism,the destruction ofnatural and human environment have attracted people’s attention.Anincreasing number of people have gradually realized the importance ofprotecting the ecological environment.As a result,there was a greenwave to protect the living environment all over the world.The proposalof "eco-tourism" was in line with the trend of the times,leading to moreand more attention of scholars in the field of tourism.As a new kind ofgreen industry,ecological tourism plays an important role in thedevelopment of the tourism economy and the protection of tourismresources.It is a vital way to make tourism development coordinate withsocial economy,environmental protection and resource utilization.It hasbecome a new direction for the development of the tourism and aninevitable choice to realize the reform and transformation of tourism.Through the literature method,questionnaire survey method,fieldsurvey method and so on,the article took all the internal and externaldemands of ecotourism in Dongtou island of Wenzhou into account,basing itself on the domestic and foreign research status for ecologicaltourism and the tourism ecology and sustainable development theory.Inthe article,a comprehensive analysis was given concerning theopportunities and challenges,advantages and disadvantages of thedevelopment of Dongtou island ecological tourism.The article aims atfinding out a suitable way for the development of Dongtou Island,whichcan guide Wenzhou Dongtou Island’s eco-tourism development andsustainable development.Meanwhile,the road will take the characteristicdevelopment as the strategic core thought,closely circumfuse thestrategic direction of government leading,Structural transformation,planprotection,cultural development,capital improvement,infrastructureinvestment and security propaganda,forming the brand of characteristicmarine ecological tourism.And in order to expand the development oftourism space,extend the industry chain,improve the social andeconomic benefits of tourism,Dongtou island will be built ecological,leisure,sightseeing,tourism as one of the tourist resort.
