In recent years,a lot of research has been carried out on the prefabricated concrete structure and the prefabricated steel structure in Ch ina. However, the research on the prefabricated masonry structure is less and mainly in the aspects of the prefabricated block and the prefabricated structural columns. With the development of construction equipment and technology, the weight of block is n o longer a limit and the size of block can be increased appropriately to improve the efficiency of wall construction.Domestic and foreign scholars have carried out a series of studies on the size effect of masonry, but whether the performance of masonry will be affected by the length of block is not fully studied. Therefore,in this paper, the two types of prefabricated concrete hollow blocks with different length are selected to conduct experimental research and analysis on the compressive performance of the prefabricated block and prefabricated masonry. The influence of the blocks’ length on the masonry performance is also studied. The main contents are as follows:(1)The compressive strength test of prefabricated block is carries out.Th rough the standard compressive strength test of 60 block specimens in 12 groups, the compressive strength values and failure modes of two block types under different sizes were obtained. The effects of block length on the compressive strength and failure m odes of Type I and Type II blocks are compared and analyzed, which lays a foundation for the study of the influence of block length on the com pression performance of masonry.(2)The axial compression test of prefabricated block masonry is carried out.T hrough the compressive test of 10 groups of 30 masonry specimens, the failure load, axial and transverse strain, failure mode and other test results were obtained. The effects of block length on failure characteristics, axial compressive strength, strength utilization coefficient, initial crack coefficient, peak strain, elastic modulus and Poisson’s ratio are analyzed.(3)Finite element simulation is carried out for the compressive test of prefabricated block and masonry. The material performance paramet ers are selected to define the block and mortar materials, and the model is simplified reasonably. The discrete model is used in this paper. The strain and stress contour plot and load-displacement curve of the model are obtained. The failure modes are analyzed and compared with the experimental results.
