The energy structure of "rich coal,poor oil and little gas" determines that coal is still the main energy in China for a long time.With the increasing pressure of resource exhaustion and environmental pollution,the hard constraint of ecological protection forces coal enterprises to take technological innovation as the core of development.The process of technological innovation is generally characterized by path dependence.Therefore,it is of great significance for coal enterprises to timely adjust the development path of technological innovation so as to achieve sustainable development by clarifying the factors affecting path dependence and clarifying the mechanism of action.As an important carrier of technology innovation information,patent can appropriately represent the status of technology innovation and is also an important part of the innovative development of coal enterprises.Therefore,this paper attempts to explore its path-dependent manifestations,influencing factors and action mechanism through qualitative research from the perspective of patent.On the basis of combing the literature,this paper takes China Shenhua Energy Company Limited(CSEC),which is the strongest coal company and has the largest number of patents,as the research subject.First,it uses Cite Space and Excel to conduct statistical analysis on 6,828 patent data from The World Patent Index database of Derwent,and explains its dependence performance in technological innovation based on path dependence theory.Then,based on the interview data of 22 researchers,we identify the influencing factors of path dependence.At last,ISM is used to decompose the influencing factors in order to reveal the interaction mechanism among them.The research results are as follows:(1)From the perspective of patent,there exists path dependence in the technological innovation process of CSEC,which is mainly manifested as strong historical inertia of the industry,adaptive expectation of policies and path locking of internal technology selection.(2)The factors that influence the formation of CSEC's technological innovation path dependence include 14 sub-categories and 4 main categories.It is found that its strong historical inertia,policy attachment and path locking are respectively influenced by core rigidity,innovation context and technical ability.(3)Hierarchical decomposition of 14 influencing factors is carried out to obtain a hierarchical structure model with 5 levels,and the root effect of resource endowment advantage factors on path dependence is identified.(4)Based on data analysis results and path creation theory,CSEC's initiative in consciously deviating,adjusting policy direction and seizing new opportunity window is emphasized.The conclusion of this paper can not only enrich the research system of path dependence theory in the field of technological innovation of coal enterprises,but also provide reference for the technology departments of CSEC and other large coal enterprises to adjust the development path of technological innovation.There are nineteen figures,fifteen tables and eighty-nine references in this thesis.
