The China Petroleum Liaohe petrochemical company has planned to process Venezuela heavy crude derived residuum.Processing options need to be studied to optimize the utilization of this unconventional petroleum resource.In this study,asphalt-based process and a comprehensive utilization process scheme were investigated based on the evaluation of yields and properties of the products.The main tasks are as follow:(1)Various grades of asphalt were prepared by solvent-deasphalting technology using the atmospheric residual oil as feedstock and propane,butane as solvent,respectively.The properties of these samples were characterized by corresponding standard test methods.(2)Vacuum distillation was carried out for the atmospheric residue to obtain different distillation cuts.The fractions were blend back to the residue to produce various grades asphalts.(3)Furfural refining was carried out,where the vacuum fraction of different fractions as raw materials.The process conditions of vacuum distillate furfural refining were studied to produce rubber plasticizer.The feasibility of extracting oil recycle vacuum residue also was explored to produce road asphalt.The results show that the production of asphalt by distillation processing atmospheric residuum is a simple and effective processing route,where the standard 70#a grade asphalt products can be gotten directly.Compared with distillation method,Solvent deasphalting technology is inferior to directly produce road asphalts due to the limited low temperature ductility and PI index.Vacuum distillate after furfural refining process,refined oil is used as environmentally friendly rubber plasticizer and refining Oil is used as ordinary rubber plasticizer.The quinolone,indoles and aromatic compounds could be separated significantly by the method of furfural refining.This work provides basic technology data for the prospective processing for heavy oil of Venezuela,possessing a certain practical value.
