Study On James O'Connor's Dual-crisis Theory

Since the industrial revolution began,the ability of mankind to transform nature has gradually increased.However,the destruction of nature has also intensified,and the ecological environment damage of capitalist society is also endless.People have begun to think about the natural environment,and many scholars began to study ecological problems.Among them,the theory of double crisis of capitalism proposed by Western scholar James O'Connor opened a new perspective for solving the ecological crisis.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part,mainly introduces the background and significance of this paper,the research and research contents and methods status of James O'Connor's dual-crisis theory at home and abroad.This thesis mainly uses literature research,text analysis and other methods to make in-depth analysis of these ideas;The second part mainly introduces the background of James O'Connor's dual-crisis theory,the social and historical background includes the rapid development of the capitalist economy,the development of the ecological movement.The theoretical sources are mainly analyzed from three aspects: the economic crisis theory and the Man and Nature in the Classic works of marxism,the ecological thought of early Western Marxist scholars,which laid the theory basis for O'Connor's double crisis theory.The third part focuses on the specific connotation of O'Connor's dual-crisis theory,specifically analyzing the philosophical basis of reconstructed historical materialism,the actual performance and specific content of dual-crisis theory.After comparing the solution method of ecological crisis proposed of other Western ecological Marxism scholars,O'Connor proposes that the solution to the double crisis is to build a new socialism,namely ecological socialism.The fourth part fosuses on the historical evaluation of James O'Connor's dual-crisis theory,and the theoretical inspiration and practical value of ecological civilization construction in China.At the theoretical level,we must attach importance to the productive justice,the guidance of the concept of green consumption culture,the consummate ways of the policy orientation of green production as the goal;At the level of practical value,we should attach importance to the combination of cultivating the respect of nature,strengthening the application of ecological technology,promoting the ecological development mode and giving full play to the superiority of the socialist system.Carry out in-depth reforms in value orientation,way of thinking,and way of life.And strive to open up an ecological civilization development path of harmonious development between man and nature.
