After nearly 20 years of rapid development,China's rangehood and gas stove industry has gradually moved to a mature development track.It is an enterprise's main advantage to continuously introduce new products that meet user needs in the competitive and homogenized rangehood and gas stove market.In a mature market,market segmentation is beneficial for enterprises to open up new market opportunities.While the rangehood and gas stove market has entered a mature period,the post-90 s group has gradually become the main force of today's national consumption,and the post-90 s have extensive demand for home appliances.But there is no design research of the rangehood and gas stove for the post-90 s at present.The post-90 s generation accounted for 17% of the country 's total population,and it's number has reached 230 million.Therefore,the design of rangehood and gas stove targeting the post-90 s generation has huge market potential.The purpose of this article is to use the Mental Model theory as a guide to conduct comprehensive user research for the post-90 s.In the research,the user's needs are gradually guided into the definition of products,thus guiding the design and practice of rangehood and gas stove.The research in this paper includes three parts: First,the post-90 s user grouping study based on lifestyle and cooking style,constructing a post-90 s grouping paradigm;Second,this article uses the Mental Model theory to guide the user research,and obtains the user needs at all levels of the post-90 s users.And this article introduces big data research based on competitive product evaluation research,and also analyses competitive products as a supplement to user research;Third,this paper uses the conclusions drawn by the above research to guide the design practice,and proposes a solution centered on the island-style rangehood and gas stove set and the lifting structure.Compared with other design research methods,mental model research can not only focus on user operations on specific products,but also easily get rid of the restrictions of specific products.This article verifies the feasibility of applying the Mental Model to the design of rangehood and gas stove.The mental model provides principles for the innovation of rangehood and gas stove,and the specific design also provides a new idea for the development of rangehood and gas stove.
