In the process of global integration development,environmental pollution has been paid more and more attention by countries all over the world.The Yangtze River Economic Belt is the focus of China’s future economic development,covering a number of national key industrial projects such as steel,petrochemicals,automobiles,and electromechanical industries.However,these main industrial enterprises are also the key to environmental pollution.How to balance the relationship between economic development and carbon emissions in the region is an inevitable problem facing my country.This article first sorts out the carbon emission and related index measurement methods.It is found that,relative to carbon emissions,considering the carbon emission efficiency index of economic development index GDP is more helpful to interpret the carbon emission problems in the economic development of developing countries.In order to make the analysis results more accurate and policy recommendations more targeted,this paper selects carbon emission efficiency as the explained variable for relevant analysis.Afterwards,based on the stochastic frontier model,a trans-logarithmic function for measuring carbon emission efficiency was constructed using the full factor analysis method,and Stata14.0 was used to calculate the carbon emission efficiency of 11 provinces in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2003 to 2016.Secondly,in this paper,the non-parametric method is used to estimate the nuclear density of the unknown density function,and the distribution curves of the nuclear density estimation of the carbon emissions and carbon emission efficiency of the provinces in the Yangtze River Economic Belt are analyzed,and the carbon emission sources of the coastal provinces are drawn.Carbon dioxide accounted for the proportion of the overall structure change chart.The study found that although the carbon emissions increase rate of the provinces in the Yangtze River Economic Belt increased year by year and increased rapidly before 2011,the growth rate slowed between 2011 and 2016,indicating that carbon emissions have been controlled to a certain degree and are relatively stable.There are even signs of reduction.However,the annual carbon emission efficiency has been improved to a lesser extent and the growth rate has been slightly slower.In addition,the gap between provinces’ carbon emissions is increasing,but the gap between provinces’ carbon emissions efficiency is slightly reduced.The phenomenon of “multi-polarization” of carbon emissions and carbon emission efficiency among provinces is not obvious.Third,an empirical analysis of the spatial measurement model is established to analyze the factors that affect carbon emissions efficiency.After spatial effect decomposition,it is found that there is a significant negative spatial autocorrelation in the carbon emission efficiency of the provinces in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.The impact of each province’s economic development level on the province’s carbon emission efficiency is not statistically significant,but it has a positive spatial spillover effect on the neighboring province’s carbon emission efficiency,which is significant at the 1% level.The impact of environmental regulation intensity on the province’scarbon emission efficiency is significantly positive at the 5% level,while the impact of industrial structure upgrades on the province’s carbon emission efficiency is significantly negative at the 10% level.The impact of foreign direct investment on the province’s carbon emission efficiency is significantly positive at the 1% level,but it has a negative spatial spillover effect on the neighboring province’s carbon emission efficiency and is significant at the 1% level.Technological innovation capability has a long-term significant negative impact on carbon emission efficiency.The impact of energy consumption structure on carbon emission efficiency is not statistically significant.Finally,based on the previous calculation and analysis results,this article puts forward policy recommendations on adhering to the strategy of sustainable economic development.The focus of efforts to improve the carbon emission efficiency of the Yangtze River Economic Belt should be on transforming the economic growth model,strengthening the intensity of environmental planning and supervision by foreign companies,adjusting the internal structure of various industries,rationally allocating research funding and improving the energy consumption structure.Accelerate the transformation from extensive economic model to intensive economic model,focusing on the internal structure adjustment of the tertiary industry.Actively introduce high-quality,high-efficiency,foreign-funded enterprises with advanced industries and green production processes.Reasonable allocation of research and experimental development funds to accelerate the development of China’s low-carbon green economy. |
