| Because I had the honor to be an international artist assistant during my postgraduate studies,I assisted many foreign artists in their artistic creation activities in China during this period. And I found that many of them came to China to learn Chinese culture and porcelain-making technology, not because of curiosity and yearning for Chinese culture, but because they wanted to apply these exotic cultural symbols and porcelain-making techniques as new elements to their personal works and put on personal labels. This is similar to the development history of Imari porcelain. The design pattern of Imari porcelain borrowed a lot of Chinese traditional ornamentation, and incorporated local cultural symbols into it in the later period, thus producing this new porcelain variety, which was sought after and recognized by European countries in the 17 th century.I hope to look at this period of history from a different angle.Since ancient times, different cultures have absorbed and infiltrated each other through constant contact, collision and communication, and various advanced technologies and cultures have merged and bred new cultures on this basis.China has an extremely rich cultural background, which has a profound cultural influence on the neighboring Asian countries and even the European continent, and China is also the beneficiary of cultural blending.I hope to find new design breakthroughs in Japanese tableware represented by Imari porcelain through this creation. |
