In the early tenth century AD,an Uighur force later arrived at Khocho region(At present Turpan Area in Xinjiang)after westward immigration, here established Khoco-centered Uighur regime.Due that it was just in the Silk Road,it was the only way that trade must pass through, thus, commercial intercourse and cultural exchange here in the Silk road were also prosperous as never before. As the imperial temple for Khocho uighur royalty in the past,a great number of exquisite mural paintings in the Bezeklik Grottoes not only kept records of splendid Buddhist arts, but also to some extent truly reflected a picture of real life in Khocho Uighur Kingdom at that time which was of significant reference value to study Uighur costume culture for later generations.Image of many donors in mural painting made true records of overall images for people who invested funds to build caves at that time, their family membersand subordinates in which there were lists in old Uighur language to introduce status of the donors. The paper chose the first relatively representative Uighur donor in the left wall of the twentieth cave in the Bezeklik Grottoes and conducted overall restoration research.Because there remained no physical material for the restored object,so on the basis of analysis and research on graphic information of mural painting, the paper mainly made a summary to basic characteristics and historical origin on costume styles, dressing fabric, pattern design, color and other aspects in combination of literature and applied modern techniques to conduct presumption of the image and restoration of the overall image for Uighur donors. At final, original appearance of cultural relics would be reproduced to some extent.Restoration and research of the overall image for Uighur donors not only could richen ethnic national costume culture along the Silk Road on the basis of historical restoration. At the same time,It enhanced cultural confidence in China which had important significance for restoration and research on minority costume culture.
