Shroud and weeds are important parts of the funeral dress in traditional funeral.Shroud is what the deceased wear when they closed their journey of life.Shroud is varied according to genders and ages,which mainly including,clothes,pants,hats,shoes,socks,pillow and quilt.While in Southern Fujian,funeral clothes including Taoist priest clothing inherited from ancestors.The color and pattern has its profound meaning and the craft of these clothes is meticulous.Another perspective of Southern Fujian funeral dress is the cloth of band,for who performed for funeral,the cloth of every band has their own style,just like every brand has its own style and position.The dress of song and dance before holding a funeral procession is also characteristic feature of Southern Fujian funeral dress,and their gorgeous color is root in the style of minority.Mourning dress is what all the families of the deceased wear in the period of mourning.Under the baptism of changes of regime and political culture,mourning dress gradually formed the inherent hierarchy dress rules called Mourning dress system.In ancient times,relatives of the deceased PiMaDaiXiao during the period of mourning o show their filial piety.The dress of mourning strictly obey personal relationship with the chop failure,which including five grades----Zhan Shuai,Qi Shuai,Da Gong,Xiao Gong,Si Ma.In the same level of mourning dress,the details of the clothing are also different due to different mourning object.In the south of Fujian province,the color is used to distinguish the relationship of relatives,just as white means peers,blue for the grandson,red for son,Huang means great-great-grandson which indicates five generations live together.This is also one of the distinctive features of Southern Fujian mourning,which replace WuFu dress color hierarchy.Southern Fujian funeral custom believed in ghosts and gods,geomancy,and they believed that hold big ostentation and extravagance funeral can express sorrow for the deceased and for the special filial piety.The grand red tape gave birth to the foundation of Southern Fujian funeral dress culture and even formed a kind of culture symbol.This paper analyzes Southern Fujian funeral dress culture through depth understanding of Southern Fujian funeral custom.This paper is divided into three parts:The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the origin and significance of the topics,review and analyze the related literatures and state the method of research.The second part is the elaboration of the South Fujian funeral culture.This part aims to understand the cultural foundation of the South Fujian,to clarify the relationship between the funeral and the Taiwanese culture,and to elaborate the whole process of the funeral ceremony of the South fujian.To reach the goal to discuss the origin and formation of the culture of Southern Fujian's funeral and the process of forming a special funeral culture.The third part research the culture of costumes in the the southern fujian.In the understanding of the culture of South Fujian funeral customs,to parse the funeral ceremony dress,comprehensive analyze the shroud and mourning mode and clothing color and pattern characteristics.
