Application Research On DOE In R Companies' Toilet Development

China has become the largest producer and market of sanitary products since the early of this century.In today's Chinese sanitary product market the competition is fierce and new product are introduced sooner than ever before.Launching new product quickly has become company an important way to response this competition.Sanitary product design is an important stage of new product development,the quality of design not only determines new products' quality,development cycle also determines its production cost.How to design high-quality products to meet customer needs has been a challenge for new product design engineers.DOE which originated in the early 20 s of the 20 th century can greatly advance product design quality.by using DOE the new product's robustness,development costs and development cycle can be improved.This thesis researched on the DOE applied for new product developed in Foshan R Company.New product Will is a dual-flush,water saved toilet,it is high performance,water saved 1pc toilet.In order to meet the function requirements,a new product prototype was made by CNC machine at first,and a 4 factor 2 level design was carried out on the prototype.Then,test data was analyzed by the software of Minitab and the 4 factors values were fixed,finally,the vitreous products based on the 4 factors values were manufactured and performance were tested.All the samples meet requirements.By using DOE this new toilet development had reduced cycle time and cost,and it set a benchmark for future toilet development.
