To solve the bubble issue in a new type of one part high viscosity structure adhesive made by 3M,this paper adopts Six Sigma DMAIC methodology to study product quality improvement.Firstly,this paper has some study on the Six Sigma theory and also summarizes some local and overseas research and application situation on Six Sigma execution at coMPany level.In order to find the main defects of the product,current structure adhesive quality related data are collected and analyzed.With using tools at Six Sigma such as Process Map Breakdown,Cause and Effect Analysis and Potential Failure Model Effects Analysis etc.filters the main factors from the whole process flow,recognizes the problems at measurement system and makes improvement.Then using Design of Experiment improves and optimizes the defined key factors.Finally,after the improvement measures are executed,the key adhesive performance of bubble is tracked,there is big improvement on the adhesive bubble performance and achieved the goal set at the very beginning by coMParing with the primary quality issue.By this paper,not only the bubble quality problem of the new type of one part high viscosity adhesive has been resolved,but also the effectiveness of Six Sigma DMAIC methodology has been proven to solve quality related issue.And what's more this paper is a very good practice and example to solve the other problems in daily work in the future with using DMAIC systemic method.
