In the modern cultural expression, the western society has always occupied a dominant position.Under the tremendous impact of Western culture,we have formed a cultural ecology that abandons our history for survival. The ancient rhyme and beauty in Chinese culture struggle to conform to the aesthetics of the modern western culture. In this conflict, modern artists have not abandoned the exploration of "New Orientalism" and have been looking for a sense of cultural belonging. Our design language must have an authentic and powerful cultural support, and find a link between ancient and modern moods in its renovation. In Chinese art, imagination emerges from the graphic white space. This kind of imagination constantly changes the established consciousness, negates the concrete results, returns to the changing process, abandons the obsession with the outcome, and searches for a new outlet through ups and downs. This paper will discuss what is the "New Orientalism" costume design, its costume cultural connotation, and its impact on the aesthetics of the whole society. Moreover,I will talk about how to create social fashion and guide the consumer market as well as inheriting our artistic history, how to reconstruct the traditional costume shape, how to transform and utilize multicultural elements, how to compare the cultural integration and absorption of the Orient and the Occident vertically, and the outcome of cultural collision with the Occident.
