Minimalism is one of1960s Western tendencies and important school of modernart of the twentieth century. Minimalist style fashion design can be traced back to the1970s of the twentieth century, there were individual designers have begun to try andresearch in this area. But the effort in that era can be said to be two to tango, thecommunity is difficult to arouse concern and attention. However, the costume designas a highly fashionable category of art, its biggest feature is that changing.10yearslater, people began to realize the unique charm of minimalist style, simple designspread like wildfire started in the fashion industry, fashion design as a minimalist styleand genre, has basically taken shape. In the1990s, the minimalist style of clothingdesign is more intense scratching, and even emerged from the design community, themedia, the general public until the competing celebrities flaunt the grand beauty ofsimplicity, minimalism and finally became the twentieth century The dominant styleof the1990s. With retro style, although after the comeback, minimalist dominanceweakened, but any kind of new fashion trend is still difficult to overturn minimalistsolid position in today’s fashion world. It is foreseeable that the minimalist style ofcostume design in the twenty-first century should continue to occupy an importantplace.
