Urban tourism competitiveness is one of the hotspots in the field of tourism research.The research results of the combination of niche theory and urban tourism competitiveness are increasing and tending to mature.The combination of the two is the study of urban tourism niche.At present,smart tourism is in the ascendant,and it has become one of the hot topics in tourism research,and the research results have increased year by year.However,the results of studying the urban tourism niche in the context of smart tourism are still rare.The tourism industry in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has developed rapidly in recent years,and the pace of smart tourism construction has gradually accelerated.In order to avoid blind construction,it is necessary to construct a set of evaluation index system for urban tourism niche in Inner Mongolia under the background of smart tourism and conduct research on tourism niche evaluation.This paper combs the research results of wisdom tourism concept and typical practice,urban tourism competitiveness evaluation,niche theory and its application at home and abroad,and summarizes the current situation of wisdom tourism promotion and construction in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.A series of niche theory were used,including the concept of tourism niche,multidimensional super-volume theory,niche situation theory and overlap theory,niche expansion and exclusion theory,dislocation and separation theory,and synergistic symbiosis theory.Based on the multidimensional super-volume theory of niche,this paper constructs an evaluation index system of urban tourism niche in Inner Mongolia,including tourism resources,tourism market,social economy and natural environment.There are 33 threelevel indicators,and the entropy method is used to give weight to indicators.According to the indicators,the data of twelve cities in Inner Mongolia from 2013-2017 were collected.Firstly,the data in 2013 was used as the base to calculate and analyze the niche size of each dimension and the comprehensive niche size of twelve cities from 2014 to 2017.Secondly,cluster analysis and spatial pattern analysis were carried out based on the comprehensive niche size.Then,using the standardized data of the four-year mean of 2014-2017 as the data source,the overlapping model is used to calculate and analyze niche overlap matrix of each dimension and the integrat--ed niche overlap matrix.According to the analysis results,Hulunbeier,Xilin Gol and Hohhot are the first-class cities,and the tourism niche value is relatively larger,and the tourism competitiveness is strong under the background of smart tourism;Baotou and Erdos are the second-class cities,and the tourism niche is in the middle,and the tourism competitiveness is general under the background of smart tourism;the rest are the third type of cities,the tourism niche value is small,and the tourism competitiveness is weak under the background of smart tourism.In terms of spatial pattern,the three types of cities are distributed in the eastern and central,central,eastern and western parts of the autonomous region.Finally,according to the conclusions,the corresponding countermeasures are given to enhance the tourism niche size of Inner Mongolia's various leagues under the background of smart tourism and optimize the spatial pattern of tourism eco-location in the autonomous region.
