Study Of The Antique-style Copper In Song-yuan

The antique-style copper in Song-Yuan,which means the copper made to imitate the product in olden time in Song,Xixia,Liao,Jin and Yuan Dynasties,aims to facsimile the bronze in Xia-Shang-Zhou dynasties and the ware in Qin,Han,Wei,Jin and Northern and Southern dynasties.Based on the material objects,this study regards antique-style coppers as the subject investigated.First of all,on the foundation of data collection,the classifying of shapes and decorations of antique-style coppers in Song-Yuan will be made with the differentiation of period.Next,the source of shapes,decorations of these coppers will be discussed.Finally,this study,combining with the documents,will explore the relations between the antique-style copper in Song-Yuan and the social at that time.Some of the antique-style coppers in Song-Yuan were made to copy the antique and atlas.The others,based on the documents,were made with the imagination.In addition,they were influenced by the pop culture at that time.As the result,their appearances are different,which need the careful analysis and discussion combining the documents.This study can be divided in three stages:The first stage is the exordium.In this part of studying,the relative concept will be defined,and the relevant research history will be reviewed.This studying will indicate the lack of the previous study and explain the train of thought and the innovation in this paper.The second stage is the arrangement of the extant material object.First of all,these materials will be differentiated in heritages and excavations.The excavation will be the emphasis and be divided in different areas like the upper reaches of the Yangtze River,the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River,the northern area and the foreign area.Then,the shapes and decorations of these antique-style coppers will be classified.And the differentiation of period will be made.The third stage is based on the arrangement in the second stage.In this stage,these antique-style copper will be deeply explored.On the one hand,this paper will discuss the source of these antique-style coppers from archaeology and culture relics' view.On the other hand,from the perspective of art history,this study will demonstrate the relation between antique-style coppers in Song-Yuan and social at that time with the help of documents.The relative enlightenment for crafts will be obtained.
