The Study On The Impact Of Economic Growth On Ecological Environment In Shandong Province

Around the world,we can see that developed countries have realized their own growth based on the achievements of the industrial revolution,but caused a series series of problems,such as the deterioration of the ecological environment and the shortage of resources.Since the reform and opening up which is began in 1978,China has achieved rapid economic growth,but the problem of the ecological environment is increasingly serious.Economists began to discuss the impact of economic growth on the ecological environment.Some studies showed that the impact of economic growth on the ecological environment presented an "inverted U-shaped" curve,while others showed that the impact of economic growth on the ecological environment presented "U-shaped","N-shaped" and "inverted N-shaped" curve.First,this paper make an research about the method of exploring the relationship between economic growth and ecological environment.Secondly,the positive and negative effects of economic growth on the ecological environment are explored.Thirdly,the evaluation system of ecological environment quality in Shandong Province was established,and the comprehensive index of ecological environment quality in Shandong Province was obtained by the analysis of principal component.Finally,this paper explores the shape of Kuznets curve in Shandong province and analyzes the impact of population density and actual utilization of foreign investment on the ecological environment,and puts forward some suggestions to realize the coordinated development of economy and ecological environment based on the empirical results.The results show that: First,the relationship between economic growth and ecological environment in Shandong presents an "U" curve,and the GDP Per Capital at the inflection point is 49705.39 yuan.Before reaching the turning point,the ecological environment in Shandong will continue to deteriorate with the further economic growth.After reaching the inflection point,economic growth has a positive effect on the improvement of ecological environment.Second,the six cities including Jinan,Qingdao,Zibo,Dongying,Yantai and Weihai are in the rising stage of u-shaped curve,the economic growth plays an important role in improving the ecologicalenvironment.Other 11 other cities of Shandong province are in the decline stage of "U" curve,the ecological environment are in the trend of deterioration with the further growth of economy.Third,there is a significant negative correlation between population density and actual utilization of foreign investment and ecological environment.The higher the population density and actual utilization of foreign investment,the worse the quality of ecological environment in Shandong will be.Fourth,the reasons for the "U" of shandong environmental kuznets curve mainly include the optimization of industrial structure,the improvement of scientific and technological level and the implementation of laws and regulations on ecological environmental protection.Combined with the results of empirical research,this paper puts forward the following suggestions and countermeasures: First,accelerate the adjustment of industrial structure;Second,improve the quality and structure of foreign investment.Third,promote green infrastructure of cities;Fourth,establish and improve laws and regulations on ecological and environmental protection;Fifth,improve the awareness of environmental protection.
