In recent years,large-scale and long-lasting haze weather has appeared in most cities of China.Urban air quality problems have attracted wide attention of society, government and scholars.Unorderly urban development has increased energy consumption and aggravated urban air pollution. As a result of the spatial change of urban development, urban form influences the air quality change of cities through the density of cities, the distribution of urban traffic, the type of land use and so on.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to scientifically summarize the urban morphological characteristics and analyze the impact of different urban morphological characteristics on air quality.Starting from the perspective of urban spatial morphology, this paper calculates urban morphological indicators based on panel data of prefecture-level cities in Shandong Province from 2001 to 2016,and identifies four urban morphological characteristics. The correlation between PM2.5 and PM2.5 was analyzed by using PM2.5 average concentration and urban spatial morphology related index data, and a regression model was established to investigate the impact of key factors of urban morphology on air quality in 17 cities of Shandong Province. The results show that the comprehensive index of urban spatial form in Shandong Province has a low correlation with air quality, while urban population density and urban compactness are negatively correlated with air quality. The commuting degree of urban public transport per unit area is positively correlated with air quality, and the correlation degree is higher. The diversity of urban land use types and the proportion of green space are negatively correlated with air quality. In the regression equation, the control variable of coastal cities is negatively correlated with PM2.5 concentration, and urban economy is positively correlated with PM2.5 concentration. At the same time, after controlling urban scale, urban economy and whether the city is coastal or not,the regression equation model results show that urban population density has a negative effect on air quality, while urban compactness has a negative effect on air quality.Air quality plays a positive role.It is concluded that urban population density, urban land use type, urban public transport and urban green space all have effects on air quality. The more concentrated urban population and the more complex urban land use types will reduce the concentration of urban particulate matter.Increasing the area of urban green space will reduce the concentration of urban particulate matter.Increasing urban traffic vehicles will increase the concentration of urban particulate matter. Finally, according to the results of empirical research, and from the macroscopic, intermediate and microcosmic levels, the paper puts forward relevant policy recommendations on adjusting the urban population density, optimizing the layout of urban land, advocating urban public transport trips, and increasing the proportion of urban green space in Shandong Province.
