Study On The Tang Costume Hezi

With the remarkable development of China's overall national strength and international influence,the extensive and profound Chinese traditional costume culture demonstrates the energetic vitality of the times and continuously contributes Chinese elements and wisdom to the development of global costume.Hezi(similar to tube top),as a type of classic female underwear originated in Tang Dynasty,is the ancestor of Chinese bra,which has a profound influence on the development of underwear in the generation afterwards as well as the design for contemporary international costume,and has high research value.This paper conducts a systematic analysis and research on the production,function,development,artistic characteristics and its influence of Hezi.First of all,it discusses the crucial role played by the development of Tang society and aesthetic taste changes on the female costume reform,which forms a solid foundation for the costume innocation and the occurance of Hezi;secondly,it focuses on several art works from Tang Dynesty such as painting,poetry and pottery figurines as the object of this paper,reflecting and summarizing towards the appearance and evolution of Hezi as well as its the function and status;After that,by regarding Hezi as an important part of female costume culture in Tang Dynasty,we conduct a detailed analysis and research on the artistic features such as style structure,pattern decoration and color,material and skills.At last,it analyzes and summarizes the influence of Hezi after Tang Dynasty on the development of modern Chinese underwear and the international costume from East Asia,and the profound influence on the style of contemporary costume design.As the ancestor of modern underwear,Hezi revealed the women's pursuit and yearning for freedom and beauty.It not only left a magnificent chapter in the history of Chinese costume,but also had a positive and profound influence on the development of international costume with its energetic vitality.The study of Hezi is not only laid on the prosperous and open society of Tang Dynasty and costume culture,but also on the basic embryonic form of modern underwear as well as its process of occurance and evolution.And moreover,It is also a study that has important guiding significance on the inheritance,development and innovation of Hezi culture as well as the innovation for contemporary costume design.
