Symbolic Analysis And Design Innovation Of The Face Make-up Of Court Lady In Tang Dynasty

Tang Dynasty had reached its peak in every filed,including economy,culture,politics and art,while a blooming period of women's toilette derived more unique facial make-up symbol.This study takes the face make-up symbols of women in Tang Dynasty as the research object,explores the women's toilette features and their innovative design expressions from the perspective of traditional female and modern design,for striving to serve and apply to the modern design.On the basis of previous theoretical achievements,the study discussed historical environment and influence of multi-culture with literature reviewing and museum investigation,getting to know cultural origin and historical background of the formation of face make-up symbol of court lady in Tang Dynasty.Through the analysis of shapes and color of the face make-up symbols in Tang Dynasty,the paper reveals its aesthetic and functional characteristics;through summarizing the relevant theories and innovative practice of face make-up symbols in Tang Dynasty,the study helps us to feel the artistic extension of traditional aesthetic consciousness on fashion design,finds the conjunction of the traditional one and the modern one;through the innovative practice of face make-up symbol elements which includes using modern visual design and concluding elements of traditional face make-up,this paper attempts to achieve the applied innovation with elements all fully integrated,and find a better way in its visual inheritance and development.
