The Tang Dynasty, an era with a name of spectacular styles and outgoing attitude, andthanks to the nation’s powerful economy development and highly opened policy, the culturalcommunication with foreign nations were greatly founded, which has been the fundamentalelement for the Tang Dynasty being the cultural peak through the whole Chinese feudalistichistory, especially with fashion and couture which carried the legacy the Dynasty of Han, ithas been still stunning for the criticism of aesthetics through times, with the tremendousfusion of color, pattern, silhouette and craftsmanship. Through many paintings and otherart-work of the time, the changes in style and creativity have been swell, and moreimportantly, the pursuit for fashion and beauty has been developed very spiritual, mostlyamong women, from which can be chased in the painting ’A Trip in Spring of the MadamGuo’ and ’Maid with the Flower Hairpin’, the classic representation of the women during thetime.This dissertation focus on arguing the aesthetic aspects through studies of women’sfashion in various paintings and artifacts from the Tang Dynasty. The unique style has alwaysbeen undeniable throughout the Chinese history of fashion, thus the author explores the deepunderstanding of the ancient people who loved and cherished the beauty of human bodytangles with couture, and by conducting more discussions on how the women of the TangDynasty developed tastes of throughout-beauty in couture, make-up and hair style, carry outthe ultimate topic of what could be the essence of this dynamic culture which not only hasbrought a vivid longing for going beyond the style through the three-hundred year empire buta glamour pearl which has been passed on in eternity.
