At present,the global auto industry stable development,has entered a mature stage,automotive OEMs and parts manufacturers pay more and more attention to improve their competitiveness,improve the competitiveness mainly through cooperation of division of labor,cost control and quality control etc..At present,the main automobile manufacturer in the world as far as possible to reduce production costs and enhance internationalcompetitiveness,and the allocation of resources in the global scope,spare parts procurement,procurement of globalization has become an important development trend of automobile industry.Higher labor costs in Europe and America,Japan and other developed countries and regions,resulting in the production in these countries and regions of the parts of the products lack of cost advantage and competitiveness,and China and India and other emergingcountries,rapid development,abundant labor force,labor cost advantage is obvious,and with the improvement of people’s living standard,the demand for cars increased in year by year.With the production of automobile manufacturing capacity to the emerging countries shift,further stimulating the demand for the localization of parts procurement,and promote the transfer of global parts industry to emerging markets.YG company is a US owned automotive interior parts company,for the transfer of conforming to the global spare parts industry,in 2003 R&D center and production base set up in China,it is a leading manufacturer of leather for the global automotive industry solutions,a large number of the use of leather as raw material,the production of seats,door panels,instrument panel and center armrest interior and exterior panels and trim leather products,the utilization rate will directly affect the financial performance of enterprises.This paper firstly describes the actual situation of the internal and external environment faced by YG company and the background and necessity of choosing this topic,puts forward the preliminary research ideas and methods,and introduces the main content and structure of the thesis.Then the related theories and tools are introduced.Next,this paper introduces the present situation of the company’s quality management and the utilization ratio of the leather and the necessity of improvement.On this basis,the use of the DMAIC process of Six Sigma management to analyze and improve the utilization rate.The first is to define and quantify the improvement of indicators to improve the problems,then the potential factors influencing the utilization rate was analyzed by using the quality analysis tools,to determine the main factors to be measured,making the measurement plan and implement according to the plan.After the implementation of the measurement plan,it is to analyze the results of the measurement plan,to determine the direction of improvement and measures,and then to improve the implementation of the project and the relevant measures for standardization.In the end,the paper summarizes the project and puts forward some ideas for further improvement.YG company through the use of Six Sigma DMAIC process to improve the utilization of leather,and achieved satisfactory results,which B project utilization increased from 5%to 7%,for the company to save a lot of money.Look forward to the research results of this paper to provide a good practice and theoretical reference for the management of the automotive interior industry utilization.
