Research On Application Of DMAIC Methodology In S Packaging Design Company Artwork Design Quality Improvement

DMAIC is the important tool in Six sigma management which used for enterprise operation,production or service workflow improvement.Through the five steps which included Define,Measurement,Analysis,Improvement and Control to optimize and improve the process of production or service,thus improve the efficiency and quality of the production or service.The paper introduced the basic concepts of Six sigma management and the improvement model of DMAIC approach,along with the case of S packaging design company artwork design quality improvement,had discussed how to use DMAIC approach for the artwork design quality improvement in the packaging design company,to raise the design quality,improve the design workflow and promote the efficiency,then continues improve the client satisfaction.At the beginning of the DMAIC deployment,the team analyzed the status of the current artwork design quality,and also defined the goals and the scope of the improvement.According to the analysis of the status of the design quality,the team had decided to focus on the design quality improvement for U client.Then,the team created several relevant measurable indicators,and also made the data collection plan;then the team quantitative and statistical analyzed the collected data,to defined the key issues that impact the design quality.Then based on the result of the statistical analysis,team made the improvement proposal for how to improve the design quality,which include to build the client's new design specification management workflow;optimize the new artwork design workflow and the artwork amendment workflow,and then standardization and documentation the updated workflows;Adding the new self-check process during the artwork design stage;and also enhanced the communication between customer service team,designer team and QC team.In the end,the team deployed the updated workflows in design production,then monitoring and collecting the quality data for half a year.The result shows that both the efficiency and quality were improved a lot by the DMAIC approach deployment in S package design company,and also the client satisfaction improved a lot as well.Taken as a whole,use DMAIC approach meets the initial expectation and goals of the project and also the result proved the effectiveness of DMAIC approach used in packaging design company artwork design quality improvement.At last,it's summarized the whole process of the deployment of DMAIC approach in the artwork design quality improvement in S packaging design company,analyzing and thinking the issues during the process,then brings up the new goal for the next steps of the improvement.
