Study On Forming Of Western Petticoat From The 19th Century To The Early 20th Century

This article focuses on the study of Western women's Dress Petticoat from fashion to modern petticoat from nineteenth Century to early twentieth Century.Western petticoat was popular in nineteenth Century and developed especially in the late nineteenth Century.Through the analysis of the characteristics of the times,styles,patterns,fabrics,colors,decorative techniques and other aspects of petticoats,this paper finds out the law of their development.This paper makes a detailed analysis and summary of the characteristics of Western women's dress petticoats based on 70 physical photos of Chinese silk museum,pictures of the Metropolitan Museum and documents.From the visual element of petticoat,we can find its originality,and combine with people's life culture at that time,we can deduce people's dress style at that time.Through this series of discussions,we can sort out a section about the development of Western women's Dress Petticoat.The first part is to sort out the development of Western women's Dress Petticoat.While defining the petticoat,we also fully understand the concept of skirt.Combining with the background of the era of petticoats,combing the culture of each time node,the aesthetic value at that time and the thinking of fashion trend,and classifying and analyzing 70 samples collected by Chinese silk museum one by one,get the proportional data,find out the development characteristics and rules of petticoats,and provide reference elements for modern design of petticoats.In the second part,the existing collections in the China Silk Museum are extracted,and representative petticoats are selected for detailed description and restoration.According to the development of history,typical petticoats have been found.The petticoats selected in this paper are recovered from the "Her Secret" of the Western Underwear Exhibition of the Chinese Silk Museum.Then,the overall garment shape,social and historical background and the development of garment culture from the 19 th century to the beginning of the 20 th century can be understood from the restored petticoats.Choroid.The third part is to discuss the combination of petticoats and overall clothing,highlighting the importance of petticoats in overall clothing wear.From the 19 th century to the early 20 th century,no matter in important occasions or in daily life,or in sports activities,women always wear petticoats.The style and style of petticoats are different in various occasions.It affects the coordination of the overall clothing,and also challenges the comfort of women's wear.Through this study,we can draw the following conclusions: Firstly,the development of petticoats can be divided into four periods,namely,the neoclassical period,the Romantic period,the Basel era and the S-type era.Second,restore the representative petticoat from nineteenth Century to twentieth Century and discover the dress culture at that time.Third,the development of petticoats affects the overall dress effect,such as wedding dress,tea dress,evening dress and so on.Petticoat promotes the development of fashion industry.From the original simple underwear gradually developed into today's outer skirts,wedding dresses and so on.
