Study On The Tang And Song Dynasty Women Dress Color

Tang Dynasty is the prime period of the Ancient Society in China.The enlightened politics,prosperous economy and all-embracing thinking have produced the gorgeous and free-style dress culture.The Chinese dress in Tang Dynasty had its characteristics of the time based on its continuous assimilation and creation.However,because of the politic and economic reforms,and the emerging of a Confucian school of idealist philosophy,along with the temperament and interest of scholar-bureaucrat,compared to Tang Dynasty,the dress in Song Dynasty had a distinctive appreciation of the beauty.This paper has adopted a comprehensive way to analyze,such as multiple textual criticism,historic comparison,pictures and induction.This paper has taken the Confucian and Taoist for classic example to discuss the dress and color perception of Ancient China,and has an historic exploration of reasons of the apparent distinction between Tang and Song Dynasty.Also,taking advantage of existing books,historic relic,pictures and poetry resources,both surface data and underground materials,the author has compared the appearance and color of women full dress,informal dress and accessories of Tang and Song Dynasty to get the corresponding dress development skeleton and dress color perceptions.Besides,this paper,based on the then textile industry,and taking the economic and politic background into consideration,hasanalyzed the relationship between the evolving of dress colors and development of textile industry,and emphasized that the dress color can reflect different aesthetic during different historic period.The study of dress culture is supposed to take account of the then politic and economic background.This paper,adopting systematic and comprehensive thinking and synthesizing politic,economic and philosophy aspect,has done a research with multiple levels and angels and discussed the then dress color in the aspect of appearance,color,economic,politic and textile industry on a both macro and micro level,which has presented the inheritance and amalgamation of historic culture.
