In the past decade,with the rapid development of Chinese economy and the domestic pulp and paper industry,the production of paper and paperboard has been increasing continuously and stably and ranks first in the world during the “12th Five-Year Plan” period.At present,with the relative product surplus caused by the fast production capacity expansion,Chinese paper industry is in a growth period of medium-low speed,thus pulp and paper companies are facing with the phase of product upgrades or transformation.The Party Central Committee brought forward the development philosophy of INNOVATION,COORDINATION,GREENNESS,OPENING and SHARING at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 18 th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.Pulp and paper companies must adjust and transform actively from the current predicament in order to cope with the new situation and challenges and realize the sustainable development of the industry.The feasibility and reasonableness of general layout of pulp and paper companies affect their economic operation.According to the production characteristics of pulp and paper companies,based on the review of technical requirement of general layout,basic starting point and the main influencing factors,the general layout of 99000t/a bleached reed pulp expansion project of BoHu Reed Industry Company Limited in XinJiang Province was taken as example to discuss the principle of SERIAL COMPACT CENTRALIZED LAYOUT and ENERGY SAVING APPLICATION in the general layout of pulp and paper factories,and to find out the reasonable one after comparative analysis of the five proposed expansion project general layout at early stage.At the same time,with consideration of general layout at implementation stage,the feasibility of the reasonable general layout design was proved by analysis of the transportation and the investment of network line of those five designs proposed at the early stage.The problems and solutions existed in the implementation stage and the later production stage were summarized,which can be used as reference for the pulp and paper industry.In this thesis,energy saving measures in pulp and paper plants were dicussed priliminarily.By comparing the distance between each stage and steam source of the new factory with that of the old one and calculating the steam heat loss,it is proved that the serial compact centralized general layout has the energy-saving advantages for pulp and paper plants.By comparing the unit energy consumption of displacement cooking with that of horizontal continuous cooking in the actual production,it is proved that the energy saving effect of HB displacement cooking is obvious.Circulating cooling water of evaporation section was used as hot process water for washing,screening and bleaching stages to reduce steam consumption in those stages.the intermediate water was used as reed washing water to reduce fresh water consumption of production system.Through the application of energy-saving measures in the pulp and paper factories,energy was saved in Bohu Reed Industry,which has certain practical guiding significance.
