Nowadays waterborne epoxy resins are widely applied in many fields,such as coatings,adhesions and composites which become the fundamental material in various fields.The waterborne epoxy resin have some shortcomings,such as the badly storage stability,the poor water resistance and so on.Development of good integrated performance of the waterborne epoxy resin system become the research focus in the presentation.In this article,MMA is applied for the functional monomer for the preparation of waterborne epoxy resin emulsion.And I choose the special cheap inorganic nanoclay-palygorskite which is modified,then prepare the waterborne epoxy resin/palygorskite composites and research their results and study their properties.In this thesis,I choose BPO as the catalyst of the reaction.I synthesize the waterborne epoxy resin emulsion by grafting copolymerization of epoxy resin E-44 and Styrene-acrylic monomer.The experiment is aimed to improve the stability of waterborne epoxy resin emulsion and study the function of the film of waterborne epoxy resin.The use of monomer,reaction temperature,reaction times,neutralizer and other processing conductions on the preparation of waterborne epoxy resin are discussed respectively.The product structure and properties of waterborne epoxy resin and its film are examined by the fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),thermo gravimetric analysis(TGA),melvin particle size distribution(DLS),transmission electron miscroscopy(TEM),X-ray diffraction analyzer(XRD),the test of pencil hardness,adhesive force and the storage ability.The results indicate that the best comprehensive properties of waterborne epoxy resin at the situation as followed:mmethacrylic acid:mepoxy resin =10:30,the amount of catalyst(BPO)is 0.7wt%,the ratio of butyl alcohol and butyl cellosolve mixed solvents is 1:1,with the total quality of 30g and at 110? for 6.5h.When the curing temperature is 105?,The film of waterborne epoxy resin is best.Secondly,I choose common used silane coupling agent KH-560 to modify palygorskite,which is used to synthesize the waterborne epoxy resin/palygorskite nanocomposites.I study that the added content of modified palygorskite of influence of the waterborne epoxy resin emulsion and the film of the waterborne epoxy resin emulsion.The results show that the added content of modified palygorskite is good for the composite emulsion and the film of composite emulsion.When the added content of modified palygorskite is 2wt%,the storage stability of composite emulsion is improved to 360days and the pencil hardness from H to 2H.
