Study On Changes Of Village Dietary Life In The Course Of Modernization

Dietary life in village can be treated as the most basic part in their ordinary lives.In order to know the villagers how to respond the change of country’s modernization,the author thought that the research focusing on the changes of the villagers’ dietary life can be regarded as a window to study the overall changes of their lifestyle.In the basic of research methods and results made by predecessors,adopting the methods of field research,such as nor-structural interview and participation observation,taking J village in Shaanxi as the case study,the author try to describe the overall appearance of the dietary life in change in J village and state my own opinion about the change of village life style from the perspective of change of dietary life in and the dimension of history.Through the study of the village dietary life,we can know some information.From the perspective of food objects,with the richness of food supply and the diversification of the form of acquisition,people have different mode of life from the traditional for "the content of eating" and "the form of eating" in the process of modernization.From the perspective of diet subject,with the transformation of the whole social structure,J village is continuously "embedded" into the industrialization and marketization track,which leads to frequent migration of the village,so that the traditional family structure of the village and the structure of the gender division of labor are gradually changed.From the perspective of values,with the development of economic rationalism,the expression of personal value and the social concept attached to the food highlighted the various contradictions and conflicts which occurred in horizontal interpersonal communication and vertical intergenerational transmission.Therefore,the traditional style and values of village life are constantly impacted.In short,with great productivity,modernization not only constantly changes people’s living material environment,but also reshapes people’s behavior and values on it.The homogeneity and regularity of people’s daily diet changes quietly in the process of vicissitude,and also,the expression of value in the dietary life is gradually "secularized" in the course of " de-traditionalization ".
