Study On The Design Of Contemporary Step Shake

Step shake is one of tradition jewelry in ancient China,but due to a lot of huge changes after Qing dynasty,this kind of jewelry developing almost stagnate today.In the contemporary jewelry field,we still can find some jewelry using the construction of step shake.To some extent,that demonstrates that step shake still have it own feature in terms of its construction and expression nowadays.Therefore,this research will study on Chinese traditional step shake and expect to design a contemporary step shake.The first chapter demonstrates the purpose and the significant of creating contemporary step shake.The second chapter begins to analyze the feature of Chinese step shake,and find the interaction between it and wearer.Then the third chapter illustrates the current situation about contemporary jewelry,and then also analyzes the step shake today in two aspects that the same as the last chapter analyzed.Finally,the fourth chapter finds the key of innovating step shake by comparing the relationship that between step shake and wear nowadays with before.After that,basing on the key,the final design started.After the research,I think the key of creating contemporary step shake is grasping the interaction between it and people.And in this interaction,how step shake influence wearer is more significant.Holding this conclusion,I designed 9 works in my graduate project,and they all show their innovation.For this whole study,on the one hand,it promotes the development of traditional step shake.On the other hand,step shake is also an example to show how to bring those precious Chinese traditional in the world of toady.
