Appropriation as a kind of creative method of "all-takenism" which is widely used in various forms of artistic creation.In this paper,the appropriation of fashion design is taken as the main research object.By analyzing the relevant research on appropriation in other art theories,and combining with the characteristics of fashion design to explores the meaning of appropriation in fashion design,and distinguishes it from other related concepts,such as copying and plagiarism,so as to obtain theoretical research results.The origin of appropriation design is also analyzed in this.From the perspective of social trend of thought,this paper expounds the trend of pop culture in fashion design and the diversification of fashion style under the background of post-modernism culture;the modern consumption culture also has an impact on the people's consumption concept and fashion style;the progress of science and technology makes the image age come,people have more access to obtain visual information resources;and the aesthetic needs of the public,from these four perspectives to explore the rationality of the source of appropriation in design.Finally,by collecting and studying the cases of appropriation in fashion design,the contents of appropriation in fashion design are summarized,including appropriation of style and image.There are also differences in the form of appropriation,which are mainly reflected in the difference between the old and the new forms in the vertical time dimension,and the difference between the center and the edge in the horizontal space dimension.
