Inspirations From 1920s Modern Style To Contemporary Female Fashion Design

Inspired by The Great Gatsby, this design is based on the 1920s typical female fashion. From the angle of development of women social status and the establishment of the unique aesthetic characteristics, the design and the article aim on presenting the aesthetic feature and its reflection on the clothing style of western women, as well as its influence to contemporary clothing fashion in China. As for the design, it seeks to add the typical vintage modern elements from the 1920s to style of western clothing. From aspects of social status and characteristics of Chinese contemporary women, the design represents a huge change in woman’s role in society. The design adopts a novel expression in order to build an independent, elegant and self-improving image for women. It represent the designer’s identity to the 1920s women and the renovation of clothing style and her will to inherit.
